Highlights from today's games.

sports. hayley, today we had amatchup between two local college teams. yeah certainly some local rooting interest. thesalisbury women’s soccer team played host to wesley. and this thing was all about the hometeam! scoreless in the first half. jackie lambergman goes to jenny gavigan who fires it in. sam brannigan comes up with the stop for the wolverines. jenna taylorwith the ball in front in front of the goal. shes got a good shot… brannigan with the save, and boy does her defender help her out, clearing the ball. tabitha brown with the ball outside, kicks it in and erin mcquate redirects it for the sea gulls score. minutes later, the wolverines looking to answer. thewoman the myth and the ledgend aleya cummings sends the ball to madison roberts who rockets it home for the score to tie it up. mcquate with another chance… brannigan shuts her down. then brown tries, she’s denied. but the seagulls would roll to win this one, 5-1 the final. boom! today was the 2016 bayside cross country championship, hosted at cambridge south dorchester high school. it was thelast meet before regionals runners trecked a3 mile course. finsihing first was brandon nichols ofkent island 2nd was erick sanchez, also from ki 3rd was connor mc’croy from cambridge sd 4th troy smith, from north caroline came in fourth 5th and in fifth place was cade stanfield, kent island team overall winners: 1 kent island 2 cambridge 3 stephen decatur “i didn’t really feel like i had the edge until like the last half mile. when i got up behind my teammate, i knew i had a better finish. i knew i could take it in the end. but it wasnt until about the last half mile that i knew i was going to finish 1st.” today was the girls last meet before regionals as well over 100 girls were competing in the meet. kent island was on fire today, amanda fine took first place for the girls. 2nd was emily mcallister, of snow hill 3rd was molly connelly, from kent island 4th emily gates repped queen anne’s coming in fourth 5th claire dowd, easton and for the team results, 1 kent island 2 north caroline 3 queen anne’s “i pr’ed by like, over a minute. so it was just a fantastic feeling. i have my splits, written on my hand, so i just looked at that and used that to pace myself.” that’s it for sports. we’ll wrap things up after the break! keep it right here — you’re watching 47 abc on the c-w catch more of the action on our sports page at 47abc.com hairstyles brought to
