Man Arrested for Terroristic Threatening of Coworker
GEORGETOWN, Del. – The Delaware State Police arrested a man on Monday morning after they say he threatened his coworker.
Police arrested 44-year-old Jose Sanchez of Lincoln on charges of terroristic threatening, fifth offense driving under the influence, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and related traffic charges. He was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $6,700 secured bond.
At 9:45 a.m. on Feb. 9, troopers responded to a report of terroristic threatening at Donovan’s Salvage Works on Donovan’s Road. When troopers arrived, they learned that Sanchez was involved in an argument with a co-worker. During the argument, Sanchez threatened to leave, return with a gun, and kill the co-worker.
Troopers spoke to Sanchez on the phone and learned that his car had broken down on Seashore Highway in Georgetown. Troopers located Sanchez in his car, where he showed multiple signs of impairment upon speaking with officers. Sanchez refused Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, and he was taken into custody without incident.
During an inventory search of Sanchez’s car, troopers found a sword concealed under clothing on the front seat. A computer check showed that Sanchez had four prior DUI related convictions and a revoked driver’s license.
