Blood Bank of Delmarva Sets up Shop in Downtown Salisbury
(SALISBURY, Md) – The Blood Bank of Delmarva hosted a blood drive Tuesday in Downtown Salisbury.
The Blood Bank declared a blood emergency recently, as they’re running low on Type-O Blood.
Officials say they’re hoping more people will roll up their sleeves and donate as the summer comes to an end.
“We’re excited because it means that the high schools and colleges will be starting up again. When they start up again, they’ll be holding blood drives. That’s 25% of the blood we collect. So when you are in the summertime still, as we are with a couple weeks still to go, it makes it hard to maintain optimal levels of inventory,” says Blood Bank Communications Specialist, Tony Prado.
