Sussex County Planning & Zoning Commission appoints new member

GEORGETOWN, Del. – The Sussex County Planning and Zoning Commission appointed a new member to its ranks.

Tuesday, County Council appointed David Pettyjohn of Millsboro to a seat on the five member panel.

The Sussex Planning and Zoning Commission reviews and gives consideration toward subdivision applications and other land use requests.

The appointment will take effect March 1 and lasts through June 30, 2026, when the current three-year term ends.

The seat is currently held by J. Bruce Mears, who is retiring after serving the County in a variety of appointed capacities.
