THANKSGIVING FUND DRIVE

cloudy skies with highs only families across the eastern shore have a good holiday the salvation army of the lower eastern shore is having a thanksgiving fund drive. this morning i’m joined by major vic tidman with details. we help families in poverty every day. there are certain days when poverty hurts more. help us make sure that every family has plenty on this special holiday and throughout the year. one in nine people in eastern massachusetts do not know where their next meal will come from. you can help the salvation army in its daily fight against hunger. on thanksgiving day, food takes on even greater meaning. more than sustenance, the turkey and all the fixings represent normalcy, family, community. if you and your family are blessed to have what you need this thanksgiving, won’t you help to ensure that every family has plenty? imagine sitting down with your family to eat thanksgiving dinner and being able to reflect on the number of people enjoying a turkey and all the fixings in their homes because of you. when you help us provide thanksgiving baskets to over 2,000 families, you are giving far more than a turkey and all the fixings. you are providing hope to over 10,000 children, parents and grandparents as they enjoy a hearty, nutritious thanksgiving meal. according to feeding america, more than 48.8 million people face the threat of hunger daily in the united states. to help mitigate that threat, the salvation army serves more than 56 million meals to anyone in need through its many soup kitchens, sit-down meal
