Smyrna offense explodes, runs away with Henlopen North

The Smyrna Eagles clinched their second consecutive Henlopen North championship and earned an automatic berth in the DIAA D1 playoffs, defeating Cape Henlopen 56-16 on Friday night.

Leddie Brown finished with 3 rushing scores on the night, while backfield-mate Will Knight finished with two, including an 84-yard score in the fourth to seal the game. Nolan Henderson also finished with two total touchdowns in the win for Eagles. For Cape, Zach Dale had a 20-yard touchdown catch from Dillon Adams, while fullback Colbi Wright also had a rushing score.

Smyrna looks to cap their undefeated regular season next Friday with a win against Polytech, while Cape hosts rival Sussex Tech.
