SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury Prize Art Contest is open now through Jan. 30!

The contest is open to Maryland organizations and residents aged 18 years and older. Artists, architects, engineers, and creative teams can apply for a $10,000 award plus up to $5,000 in material reimbursements. Installation is planned for Jun. 2026, at the kiosk area in front of the Salisbury-Wicomico Government Office Building.

This Tuesday, Jan. 20, the Salisbury Zoo is having an arts and crafts event. Docents will be available after hours in the education building to host this craft night program, called “Zoo-nique Creations,” from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. making animal themed bracelets.

And, if you’re looking for a reason to get outside, or just want to visit the animals, the Zoo is open every day from 9:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.

And it’s always a helpful reminder—come on out downtown for a bite to eat and to do a little shopping! Parking is FREE on weekends and every day after 4:00 p.m.
