on the shore. yes today was signing day for several schools in the area. such a big moment for athletes who are wrapping up their high school careers this year. it was a great day for the dover high school baseball program, as three players signed their letters of intent to play ball at the division 1 level. joseph wunsch will play at penn state mount alto while avery tunnell will be down the road at u-m-e-s. dmitri floyd will also be in the area, as he heads to umbc to field hockey, some nice honors for the cac champion su team… senior midfielder hannah miller has been named the conference player of the year. miller lead her squad to its 4th consecutive conference championship with an 8-0 win over university of mary washington on saturday. the seagulls get an automatic bid to the ncaa championship tournament. additionally, seniors becca rinaca and annah brittingham were named first team all conference players. the sea gulls bench boss dawn chamberlin was named the capital athletic conference coach of the year. chamberlin has been with program for 30 seasons, and this is her 15th coach of the year award. she is the winningest coach in su field hockey history. she was inducted into the national field hockey coaches association hall of fame in 2008. the cape henlopen vikingslacrosse team had plenty to celebrate today, as four of their girls signed to play d1. isea crybe and cailey thornburg will head to georgia to play for mercer college. kaitlyn klabe will go to winthrop, while evelyn shoop is heading to the university of florida to join gator nation! congrats to all four on their signings. that’s it for sports – more news and weather straight ahead. stay with us. catch more of the action on our sports page at 47abc.com here’s
