world of sports- thanks emily well football season is quickly coming to a close, but we are fortunate enough that one of our local teams have made it a championship… incredibly in just the programs 2nd season 47abc’s travon miles has their story track the game of football has been around for nearly 150 years, leaving practically nothing to be unseen or unsettled between its grueling lines. track but new found success for a newly founded team, is almost as unprecedented as you’ll see. its crazy how far we came fron last year, we only won one game last year, its hard to believe we’re 9-1 this year. track meet the eastern shore spartans. they are a 2nd-year pop warner program out of westover, maryland. after winning just one game in their inaugural season, the spartans are 9-1 this year and headed to waldorf, maryland on saturday, for the first round of the ayc playoffs. i think just the attitude change. once they saw last year we could finish a season, then this year it became all about winning. track besides schooling kids on the growing pains of a start up operation, the squad offers kids the opportunity for these kinds to get out of their normal environment. the kids needed this. to travel, to get out of town. see things out side of princess anne, snow hill, pocomoke, virginia, salisbury, its the eastern shore spartans so we got everybody from the eastern shore. personally it just makes me play harder, because i’m thinking in my head, i want to beat them, in their own home stadium. track so the players get two lessons in one..and while winning is also a fairly new concept, these boys aren’t backing down.. we aint going all the way down there to lose… track travon miles, 47abc that’s it for sports – more news and weather straight ahead. stay with us. catch more of the action on our sports page
