Salisbury Zoo to Host
SALISBURY, Md. — The Salisbury Zoo is hosting a service-learning day on Saturday, Nov. 22.
Community members are invited to the zoo to help keep the grounds clean. It’s a great opportunity for students in need of service hours or anyone who just wants to do a good deed.
Volunteers will assist with tasks like raking, sweeping, cleaning, planting, and preparing for upcoming holiday events. Participants under 14 must have a parent or guardian present.
“These are for people who might need their service-learning hours for school—a lot of high school students need that around here… And for those who just might want to volunteer, we welcome other groups as well. It gives them an opportunity to get those hours in while helping the zoo, which really does need it,” said Salisbury Zoo employee Michelle Angell.
The event is perfect for anyone interested in wildlife conservation and environmental stewardship. Service hours are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
If you can’t make it Saturday, the zoo will host another service-learning day on Dec. 6. For more information on how to sign up, visit the zoo’s website.
