Rehoboth Beach International Film Festival kicks off 27th Year
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. — The curtain rose Monday on the 27th annual Rehoboth Beach International Film Festival, drawing movie lovers from across the region for a weeklong celebration of independent cinema.
The festival, which runs through Nov. 9, features more than 100 films ranging from global dramas and local documentaries to shorts and Oscar-submitted international entries. Screenings are being held at the Cinema Art Theater and the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center in Lewes and Rehoboth Beach.
“We have documentaries, we have shorts — including local Delmarva shorts — and feature films,” said Lisa G. Black, the festival’s artistic director. “We have seven Oscar-nominated international submissions this year.”
The annual event has become a fall tradition in coastal Delaware, attracting visitors who come for both the films and the seaside atmosphere.
“It’s not too late to get your tickets,” Black said. “Come out and be a part of the celebration. It’s not just about watching films — it’s about being part of the community. We have filmmakers from around the world joining us.”
