Ocean Pines Chief of Police want parents to focus on safety on Halloween

OCEAN PINES, Md. –  Halloween is nearing, and Ocean Pines Chief of Police Tim Robinson wants community members to make safety a priority.

The Ocean Pines community does not permit trick or treating in OP. That’s due to lack of streetlights in the community.

However, the neighborhood does have problems with trick or treating on Halloween night.

Chief of Police, Tim Robinson, wants parents to focus on safety.

Chief Robinson wants parents and children to be mindful of their surroundings and visibility.

“The reminder to motorists is to watch out for trick or treaters on the street. The other thing we want to tell parents is that if your kids are going trick or treating, to make sure that they are wearing costumes that are well fitted, that are comfortable, and lighting if it gets dark. And most importantly, have adult supervision.”

Ocean Pines officials want community members to trick or treat in nearby Berlin from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
