UPDATE: Victim Identified in Magnolia Manslaughter Case

UPDATE: Police have identified the victim killed as 20-year-old Tamia Gordon of Magnolia.

 

MAGNOLIA, Del. – A 23-year-old Magnolia man is facing felony charges after a woman was shot dead Tuesday night.

Delaware State Police responded to the 800 block of Millchop Lane around 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 1 for a reported shooting. When troopers arrived, they found a 20-year-old woman suffering a gunshot wound. She was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The victim has not yet been publicly identified.

Homicide investigators accuse Chase Washington of handling a gun recklessly inside the home when the victim was shot. He is charged with felony manslaughter and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Washington is being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on $100,000 cash bond.
