Trial begins for Sussex County riot suspect

The trial began on Tuesday morning for one of several men charged in connection with a large fight outside of a restaurant in Dewey Beach last year.

Christopher Harris faced charges of rioting, second degree assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Police say early on June 19, officers responded to a fight, between ten to fifteen people in the Ivy Restaurant parking lot.

The crowd grew and more fights broke out which led to the injury of several officers.

Five people were taken into custody.
