Police: Dover man arrested after officer finds drugs in car

(AP) – Authorities say a Dover man is facing charges after police found cocaine, marijuana, pills and a loaded gun in his car.

Delaware State Police say a trooper pulled over 26-year-old Dynzel L. Reed on Friday because he was going too fast.

Police say the trooper noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the car. Police say a search of the car then found a duffel bag filled with drugs, including powder cocaine, ecstasy pills and marijuana.

Police say they also found a loaded handgun, additional ammunition and more than $3,000 in suspected drug sale proceeds.

Police say Reed has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, among other things. He's being held at the James T. Vaugh Correctional Institution.

It wasn't immediately clear Sunday if he had an attorney.
