Parkside football takes down Bennett with explosive day on offense

SALISBURY, Md. – Parkside football beat James M. Bennett 35-21 on Thursday night at Wicomico County Stadium in Salisbury.

A big offensive day for Parkside started early, with quarterback Thomas Gormley connecting with Tavian Dashiell for an 80-yard touchdown on the game’s second play from scrimmage. Two more passing touchdowns to Ethan Waters had the Rams up 21-0, before a ZahKail Dixon rushing touchdown late in the second quarter made it 21-7 at half.

The second half saw the Rams’ quarterback Gormley throw two more touchdowns, one to each of Dashiell and Waters. Bennett would keep pace with a score through the air from Liam Nelson to Braelon Jones Gregory and a rushing touchdown from Elijah Parks. Bennett was not able to close the gap, though, as Parkside moves to 2-1 on the year and James M. Bennett falls to 1-2.

Parkside next will face Colonel Richardson at home at 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 25.

Bennett will travel to Kent Island for a 6 p.m. game on Friday, September 26.
