Laurel man faces child abuse and sexual assault charges

In Laurel, police have arrested a man for alleged child abuse and sexual assault.

Laurel police began an investigation this month after allegations of possible child abuse and sexual assault.

It resulted in the arrest of 41-year-old Omar Cameron, but few details are known surrounding the exact circumstances of this case.

47 ABC does know Cameron is facing a number of charges including first degree rape, continuous sexual abuse of a child, and endangering the welfare of a child.

We've learned  he has been committed to the Department of Corrections after failing to post $804,100 cash bail.
