Delmarva Power Launches Customer Relief Fund
DELAWARE – Last week, Delmarva Power officially launched the Delmarva Power Customer Relief Fund, designed to support Delawarean individuals and families in need of energy assistance.
The fund is made possible through a one-time, $4.5 million charitable contribution from Exelon, Delmarva Power’s parent company, to the Delaware Energy Fund. The fund was established earlier this year through collaboration with Governor Matt Meyer and the Sustainable Energy Utility (SEU). It is designed to support limited to moderate income ranged customers, who can receive up to $300 in relief. Delmarva Power has stated that this fund is a part of their broader commitment to making energy more affordable during a time of rising demand.
To be eligible, applicants must be an active residential customer of Delmarva Power, with a household income of either 60% of the state median income or between 60% of the state median income and 350% of the federal poverty level. Applicants must also carry an account balance of at least $250, and participate in the Energize Delaware Home Energy Checkup and Counseling (HEC2) program.
To apply for the Delmarva Power Customer Relief Fund, visit Energize Delaware’s website to book an HEC2 appointment. The Delaware SEU will determine if you are eligible for the fund during the sign-up and scheduling process. All funds are being awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.
