Lightning strike sparks house fire in Dorchester County
TODDVILLE, Md. – Fire investigators are blaming a lightning strike for a house fire in Dorchester County on Saturday night.
On July 19th, around 9:30 p.m., the Lakes & Straights Volunteer Fire Company responded to the 2,000 block of Toodville Road. A wood-framed single-story home was on fire. It took about 15 firefighters 20 minutes to control the flames.
Investigators say the fire started in the living room after lightning struck the home. The strike and subsequent fire caused about $35,000 in damage. No injuries were reported.
