Road work to begin in Lewes on July 28th: What to know

LEWES, Del. – Phase 1 of construction on a project on State Route 1 will begin on July 28th.

The work will be done at the intersection of State Route 1 and Minos Conaway Road. On State Route 1, traffic will shift west, and a barrier wall will be installed along the east side between State Route 9 and Nassau Road. The southern intersection of Tulip Drive at State Route 1 will be closed for about two months.

Northbound motorists should use the northern entrance to access Tulip Drive. Traffic from Tulip Drive will also be directed to use the northern intersection to access State Route 1. Georgetown-to-Lewes Trail access will also be briefly impacted. Trail users may be temporarily affected.

Work is expected to wrap up in December, weather permitting.
