Police investigating serious wrong way head-on crash

 

LINCOLN, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating after two men were seriously injured during an early morning head-on car crash, Sunday.

According to officials, the crash happened at 1:58 a.m. on DuPont Highway just south of Lincoln. A 43-year-old Georgetown man was reportedly driving south in the northbound lanes, in a 2006 Toyota Sienna minivan. Meanwhile, a 23-year-old Milford man was driving north in a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta. The two cars crashed into each other, head-on.

The driver of the minivan was taken to the Bayhealth Sussex Campus Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition. The driver of the car was taken to the same hospital but admitted in serious condition.

The highway was closed for about three hours, Sunday morning, as officials worked to figured out what happened. The accident is still under investigation.
