Day two of Kryshonna Jones trial

Tuesday, was day two of the murder trial of a Dorchester County woman, who allegedly stabbed fatally the father of her child early this year.
Twenty year old Kryshonna Jones is charged with first degree murder. She’s accused of stabbing 34 year old Justin Barney in January. On Tuesday, after opening statements the prosecution called twelve witnesses to take the stand. One of whom was a forensic pathologist, who stated Barney died from a one inch stab wound to an artery near his heart.
One first responder testified that Barney reportedly stated that his “baby momma” stabbed him. Officials confirmed that Barney and Jones had a child together.
Also on Tuesday, a DNA analyst testified that the blood found on a folding knife on Barney, as well as a railing outside of Jones’ residence, and a white Ford Sedan matched Barney’s DNA. However, she could not conclude that it matched Jones’ DNA.
This trial is scheduled for three days, but officials believe it may last until Friday.
