Home Care Advocates to meet with Delaware Lawmaker’s at the State’s Capital next week

DELAWARE – Home Care Advocates will unite to meet with Delaware Lawmaker’s at the State’s Capital next week.

Families and health care professionals plan to ask for increase support for the in-home nursing and personal care services.

Specifically – they say they want more stability for the state’s home care industry, which is currently facing difficulty in attracting professional caregivers.

Organizers say there is a crisis at Delawareans doorstep in their ability to obtain and retain home care.

They believe the state does not have enough care workers to meet the demand.

“Delaware is getting older rapidly, every body knows it including the legislators, however, by their own admission, by the admission of various statistics put out by the University of Delaware, the state doesn’t have the workforce to meet the challenge and legislators and elected officials have to do their part in making sure that we can meet the moment,” said Rob Lattin, Area Director, Government Relations & Advocacy Engagement for Hearts for Home Care.

Health Care Advocates will meet May 15th from 10 am to 2 pm at Legislative Hall in Dover.
