ACLU to host probation information panel discussion
DOVER, Del. – The ACLU of Delaware is hosting a panel discussion about the impacts of probation.
The event will feature guest speakers, like Fleur McKendell and Pastor Will Grimes. They will speak about the justice system and how it can disproportionately impact marginalized communities.
Speakers will also lay out how ACLU is fighting for probation reform in the First State. If you want to learn about the system, or gain resources, join them on May 20th.
“If you care about fairness, justice, if you care about second chances, the conversation is for you,” said Vanda Smack. “We’re going to hear those lived experiences, we’re going to hear about those stories, we’re going to hear how Delaware’s probation system has separated families.”
The event will take place at the Solid Rock Community Outreach Center in Dover, from 6-7. You can register at ACLU-DE.org/activate.
