A Harrington woman faces charges of offensive touching at daycare in Felton
FELTON, Del. – A Harrington woman is facing charges in connection with alleged child abuse at a Felton daycare. On April 17th, Felton Police was contacted for a report on the 300 block of Ludlow Lane.
The incident took place at a local daycare involving a former employee. The Kent County Attorney General’s Office and Division of Family Services helped FPD with the investigation.
Felton Police Chief Chris Guild identified the 26-year-old Harrington resident, Ariel Dill, as the accused.
“We were able to contact the facility; they were forthcoming with video and information for us. We looked at the video and there was an area of concern where the child was handled in an aggressive manner.”
Video surveillance showed Dill pushing the child to the ground on three separate occasions. The victim was not injured during the encounters, but Dill was fired before the daycare notified police.
On April 25th, she turned herself in. Dill is charged with one count of offensive touching.
“The defendant has due process once you go to court. Just because you’ve been arrested for something doesn’t mean you’re guilty of it. Obviously, there is a court process, and those court proceedings are taking place, and whatever the outcome is, we’ll find out.”
Dill was video arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released. She has another court date pending.
