Dover man charged in connection to shooting incident

DOVER, Del. – Milford Police arrested a Dover man earlier this week in connection to a September shooting incident.

Police say the incident happened shortly after midnight on September 5th, in the Brightway Commons Apartment complex. Further investigation led police to develop 28-year-old William Harris as one of the suspects allegedly involved in the incident, during which several rounds hit an unoccupied vehicle. It was discovered that Harris had reportedly removed evidence from the scene before fleeing.

Harris was taken into custody in Milford on Tuesday and charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a weapon in a safe school zone, giving a firearm to a person prohibited, tampering with physical evidence, conspiracy second degree, and criminal mischief over $1,000.

He is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $67,500 secured bail.
