Locals celebrating Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month

DELMARVA. – April marks Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month.

Tammie Wells is a fierce advocate for limb loss and amputee awareness, being an amputee herself.

She said this is a month when folks who have been impacted by limb loss should be celebrated and considered in everyday life, and added businesses and public spaces can take the time this month to consider if they’re ADA compliant.

“It makes people aware that we have needs, and don’t judge us by the way that we get around, because we are more than able to carry our weight, but we just have to do it differently,” said Wells.
