Alcohol believed to be a factor in Georgetown crash

Members of the Delaware State Police say they believe a 35-year-old man was under the influence of alcohol when he failed to negotiate a curve, and struck a parked car at Donovan’s Salvage before 3:00 PM Thursday.
Police say the parked car went on to strike a male pedestrian on the property, then collided with a food truck. The male pedestrian and a woman within the food truck were reportedly airlifted to hospitals and are both in stable condition.
Troopers say the driver then fled from the vehicle and was located 25 minutes later at a residence in Georgetown and placed under arrest.
Charges are pending, and alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, police say.
