First State Educate hosts Scripps Regional Spelling Bee in Dover
DELAWARE. – First State Educate hosted a regional spelling bee for Delaware students. To compete for a chance to represent their state at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., fourth through sixth graders enhanced their vocabulary.
The non-profit wanted to ignite a passion for academic excellence and build confidence within the students. FSE Executive Director Julia Keleher believes these types of events are memories that last a lifetime.
“When that one student, the winner from today, is competing in Delaware, every child who is here today, who competed on that stage, is right there with them. They’re representing Team Delaware because, and did an excellent job identifying who’s going to represent the state in DC.”
The 2025 Scripps National Spelling Bee takes place May 27th – 29th. You can visit here for a full competition schedule.
