Kitty’s Flowers Gearing up for Valentine’s Day

SALISBURY, Md. – Eileen Waddell, manager at Kitty’s Flowers in Salisbury, is gearing up for a Valentine’s Day full of love and, of course, flowers.

She said it’s been all hands-on deck leading up to the big day, making sure everything is in order for the big boost in foot traffic they’re used to seeing.

“These girls have been doing this many years,” said Waddell. “Kitty’s Flowers is 75 years this May, so we try to keep the same staff, go with the pace, we all know what’s to be expected and what the routine is.”

While some might opt to get their sweetheart a dozen chocolates, Waddell said you can never go wrong with a dozen roses.

She said the shop has been non-stop, delivering orders, even renting additional vehicles to keep up with demand.

“I think roses have always been the romance flower,” said Waddell. “We do have a lot of other selections for people that might want to go another route.”

The florists are there to make your vision come to life. That’s why Waddell said a Valentine’s Day bouquet is an investment worth making, to put a smile on your loved one’s face.

“When people take the time, make the effort and spend the money, I mean, that’s a pretty great indication of a relationship that’s going in the right direction,” said Waddell.
