New App seeks to help small business owners

A brand new app available for apple users aims to give small business owners a voice when it comes to wage legislation.

The app called “Wage Engage” alerts small business owners when minimum wage legislation is introduced in their area.

The app was created by the Employment Policies Institute Foundation.

Officials with the company believe it could be beneficial to small business owners on the Eastern Shore considering the minimum wage legislation that was introduced last year at the state level.

“Business owners often, especially if they’re small business owners may not be aware of a bill or don’t have time to sort of speak out and so the app is designed to inform them of legislation and then to make it easier to let their legislators know how it affects them,” said Michael Saltsman with the EPI.

Officials with the company say the app should be available for Android users in the coming weeks.
