H.S. Football Preview: Queen Anne’s Lions

The Queen Anne’s County Lions are looking to return to the the top of the Bayside in 2016. Queen Anne’s is coming off a 7-3 regular season, earning a place in the state tournament, where they eventually fell to North Caroline in the first round. While the Lions graduated a few play makers at the skill position spots, they return a host of  talent on the line and expect the defense to be stout once again this year.

Queen Anne’s will begin with looking to fill the void left by players such as running back Ahmad Gray and quarterback Tommy Bull. While the running back looks to be accomplished by committee, the quarterback position is shaping into a competition that will likely be won during camp. Seniors Mike DeAngelo and Pat Freeman. Whomever earns the job, will be playing behind one of the strongest lines in the conference, anchored by 3 returning, 3-year starters. On the defensive side of the ball, the Lions expect to be tough again this year, lead by their 2x All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-State linebacker Tyler Bonner.

Queen Anne’s opens up their 2016 season on September 2nd when they host Kent County.
