Fire & ice festival writing challenge submissions wanted

FENWICK ISLAND, Del. – The Fire and Ice Festival is just a week away.

This year event organizers are putting a special twist on the eight-year tradition.

This year’s event will have a student writing challenge, and students in grades kindergarten through 12 are encouraged to participate.

The theme is “A weekend for the books”  and organizers told us how students can make their submissions stand out.

Lauren Weaver, Executive Director of the Bethany- Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce says “We just thought what a fun idea to be able to while it a weekend for the books encourage writing in regards to their favorite book, an experience they’ve had at a Fire & Ice Festival, or write their own story.”

Weaver also says “We’re looking for handwritten submissions cause we love the illustrations that come with it, but obviously if it has to be submitted and typed we can do that as well.”

Submissions are due by Wednesday, January 29th at 9 am and they should include the Student’s Name, Grade, School & Teacher with a Parent Name along with a Contact Phone Number.

Submissions can be sent via email to Aylssa at Events2thequietresorts.com or they can be mailed to the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce 36913 Coastal Highway, Fenwick Island,
DE 19944.
