Wicomico Clean to host 2nd annual New Year’s litter cleanup

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – Wicomico Clean is kicking off the New Year by cleaning up the community.

The cleanup is set for New Year’s Day from 11 am to 12:30 pm on Naylor Mill Road. Volunteers can meet up in the Vernon Powell – Designers Edge parking lot.

Their target will be various areas around the mall, Zion Road and along Route 13 North. Volunteer, Bruce Robson said there’s a long list of perks to picking up trash,
but the main goal is to beautify the county.

“Don’t we prefer to ride down the road and see grass and trees, as opposed to litter?” Robson asked. “If people are looking to move here, wouldn’t they rather move to a place where the roadsides are clean, and we’ve got a clean environment?”
