The Apothecarium sees uptick in cannabis sales during Green Wednesday

SALISBURY, Md. – Cannabis users are getting their green on during this Green Wednesday.

It’s a day Chantelle Elsner, TerrAscend’s President of the Northeast region, said Salisbury’s local dispensary, The Apothecarium, looks forward to each year because of the uptick in revenue.

“Some of our customers are looking for alternatives to early Black Friday shopping, which usually starts now. We’re really a part of that shopping experience for a ton of customers,” Elsner said.

Year after year Elsner said The Apothercarium outdoes itself in sales on Green Wednesday.
From pre-rolls to plant, consumers are flocking to dispensaries to buy it all, to light up during the cold winter months.

“Green Wednesday has consistently outperformed our expectations every year, which is evidence in the fact there’s a shift in consumer behavior,” Elsner said. “Most people are embracing the day not just an opportunity for deals, but also as a moment to stock up for the holiday season.”

But of course, Green Wednesday isn’t quite as big as 4/20, for now.

“It’s getting there, it’s getting closer and closer,” Elsner said. “I think the more normal it becomes for people to use cannabis as part of their social setting, the bigger this Green Wednesday and Black Friday return is going to be.”
