Motions hearing held for Wicomico Co. Homicide suspect

A Wicomico County man, convicted of killing his estranged wife in 1980, had a status conference on Friday morning.
Online court records show that Charles Simms had a motions hearing in Circuit Court to confirm that his trial date was this Monday.
Simms was found guilty of murdering his wife Darlene Simms 37 years ago. He was sentenced to life in prison.
However in 2015, a federal court ruled to throw out his conviction and set a new trial because there were problems with jury instructions.
Simms faces felonious homicide charges.
