One Year To Empowerment is recruiting new incoming class of teenage girls

A local organization aimed at helping boost local teenage girl’s self-esteem is recruiting for their upcoming year.

1 Year To Empowerment, which aims  at helping boost local teenage girl’s self-esteem is recruiting for their upcoming year.  The organization is lead by Dr. Sam Scott. The psychologist says she’s noticed the stresses faced by today’s teenage girls from cyberbullying to stereotyping  and decided a part of the solution is to give them a positive outlet. Dr. Scott tells us the girls meet a few times a month to do activities that foster both mental and physical wellness.

“It’s a nice safe space for the girls to do things that make them feel good about themselves and involve the community,” says Dr. Sam Scott.

Dr. Scott tells us the next group officially begins in January, but the application process will take place during the next few months. For more information on the organization or for those interested in filling out the application click here.
