Cambridge man arrested for assault, drug offenses
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Cambridge Police say a man is behind bars following a reported assault last week.
Just before 1 a.m. on October 4th, officers were called to the 400 block of Light Street for a reported physical disturbance. Officers met with the subjects involved, including the victim, who reported that they had been assaulted by 20-year-old Isiah Fields. Before the victim stated they had been assaulted by Fields, Fields was reportedly instructed to separate from the victim due to him attempted to argue.
Fields then allegedly tried to leave the scene on foot. Officers approached him to try to place him under arrest when he reportedly resisted and tried to flee again. Officers utilized a department issued Taser, but Fields continued to resist and ended up kicking an officer.
Other officers at the scene were shown inside the residence where the incident took place, at which time they found a large amount of controlled dangerous substances. It was also learned that Fields had possessed a gun in the residence.
A search and seizure warrant led to the discovery of a box of empty new wax fold packaging used to package heroin/fentanyl, multiple laptops and cellphones, a digital scale, a container containing CDS packaging material including stamped wax folds, rubber bands, eight bundles of stamped wax folds containing suspected heroin, a medical bottle and baggie containing approximately 30 grams of suspected heroin, a stamp kit and stamp ink, a handgun with a loaded magazine, a rifle with a loaded 30 round magazine, and cannabis.
Fields was subsequently charged with two counts of second degree assault, resisting arrest, failure to obey a lawful order, and obstructing and hindering. He was held without bond, and additional charges are pending.
