Berlin family to host community festival in honor of daughter
BERLIN, Md. – A Berlin family is hosting a community festival this weekend after losing their daughter to a rare heart defect.
Tonesa Walker and her family are hosting their Second Annual Children’s Community Festival in Frankford to keep the legacy of Londyn Simone Manuel alive.
Londyn passed away after battling hypoplastic heart syndrome back in Aug. 2017.
They hope families will join in on the festivities and that the day will raise awareness about the heart defect.
According to Walker, the festival will include all sorts of things like games, food, live music and more.
“Londyn was a beacon of hope,” said Walker.
“She bravely beat all the odds and her story will live on through me through her parents and family and I want the community to know about Londyn and her disease,” said Walker.
The festival will take place this Saturday at the Frankford Community Park at noon, and it is all free of charge.
