Delmarva Bike Week highlights new “local beer only” event

3rd Wave Brewing owners Lori Clough and Susan Vickers post with their newest beer. The Delmar brewery will be among those featured at this week's Delmarva Bike Week Oktoberfest Beer Garden

Delmarva Bike Week draws thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the country and this year, it is hosting a beer garden serving local beer only.

Delmarva Bike Week events take place at Winterplace Park and Shorebirds Stadium in Salisbury all weekend, and the beer garden will be at Rommel Harley-Davidson in Seaford.

At the beer garden, more than 30 different beers will be available and organizers say that over the last few years, Delmarva has established itself as one of the premier craft beer destinations on the East Coast.

The Oktoberfest Beer Garden at Rommel Harley-Davidson is only a small part of the festival atmosphere the organizers say they are cultivating for Delmarva Bike Week.

Along with three days of music, food, and vendors, it will be the only place selling Harley-Davidsons in the region.

This means that Seaford will be the central gathering place for the event, allowing veryone to get a taste of the beer styles available in the region.

“We wanted to have a great mix of beers since there was going to be such a diverse crowd,” said Ann McGinnis Hillyer, of ShoreCraftBeer.com, which is helping organize the event. “So in addition to fall beers and high-demand beers there will be a number of gateway beers for people who might not yet be craft beer enthusiasts.”

The festival will be from 9 AM-7 PM on Wednesday, September 15-17 at the Seaford Harley-Davidson, and remember to always share the road with bikes.
