One local man wants to keep beaches as clean as possible

DELAWARE – Local groups and volunteers want to keep the beaches clean now that most tourists are out of town.

Groups like the Surfrider Foundation and DNREC frequently hold cleanup events around the area, but one local man is looking for more people to keep the sands clean.

Dan Taylor goes out and cleans beaches in his spare time. As a young child, he was taught to clean up after himself, which has played a role in how he operates in his older years.

“I think you should leave it better than you found it, I was raised to not litter and pick up and not leave trash, and I’m a little older, and I don’t see that happening nowadays, I come to the beach, it’s nice, then they immediately trash it and it’s not nice anymore.”

Taylor is encouraging people to attend the Delaware beach cleanup on September 14th.
