Groove City Culture Fest is getting groovy this Friday and Saturday.
CAMBRIDGE, Md – The Groove City Culture Festival is coming to Pine Street in Cambridge this August 16th and 17th.
The 6th annual event will have food, vendors, and a kid’s zone all in the name of the community.
There will be two stages for the live music, and the All-female Go-Go band Be’la Dona will also perform live.
Tickets start at 35 dollars for the regular package but increase by $10 for the VIP package. You can also get a VIP table for $360.
In 1967, Pine Street was burned down during the civil rights movement, setting back black-owned businesses. Groove City lead organizer Veronica Taylor
said this event is an effort to support the legacy of the street.
“We also still have to promote the history of Pine Street, because it’s so significant to our community and there’s a lot of memories from people who were there when Pine Street was the hub for entertainment back in the day.”
