Easton man charged in child pornography investigation

EASTON, Md. – An Easton man has been arrested on multiple charges stemming from a child pornography investigation.

In April of this year, Easton Police received several cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children involving a man, identified as 42-year-old Travis Schwaninger. It was determined that Schwaninger lived outside Easton Police’s jurisdiction, and the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office was requested to take over the investigation.

A search warrant was obtained for Shwaninger’s residence, which was executed on Tuesday. Police recovered additional evidence on Schwaninger’s electronic devices, and he was subsequently arrested at the scene.

Schwaninger was charged with eight counts of possession of child pornography and was released on a $20,000 unsecured bond.
