CSD announces first-ever twin valedictorians
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – It’s graduation season and this time around two people are tied for valedictorian at Cambridge-South Dorchester High School.
“It is history in the making,” said Principal Jerome Stover.
Wil and Luke Reinbold, twin brothers, accomplished athletes, star academics, and now both named Cambridge South Dorchester’s 2024 Valedictorians. “Feelin’ pretty good, significant accomplishment from me, I’m glad my hard work paid off,” said Luke Reinbold.
Of a class of 152 students, the young men are tied for top-ranked in their class each with a 4.48 grade point average. Something they say they’re proud to accomplish together. “It’s kinda good to have support next to me ’cause we can both bounce ideas like I know I’m not in it alone, like he understands my thinking process, I understand his,” said Wil Reinbold. “Doing it with my brother again like he said support, and just good to have someone else bouncing ideas with too, said Luke.
And to get here, the duo says it took plenty of hard work. “Took a bunch of dual enrollment classes, put effortless nights in, grinding out class work and just getting assignments in on time, I had to sacrifice a bunch of stuff to get where I am but I wouldn’t change it it’s a great accomplishment to achieve,” said Wil. “Never settle for less than your best and always keep pushing when times get tough and you will succeed,” said Luke.
The Reinbold’s achievements didn’t stop in the classroom, they also made moves on the lacrosse field. Plus Wil was the football team’s kicker and Luke took to the skies becoming a licensed pilot.
Graduation marks their final time in the same school colors as both will head off to different schools this Fall. “Attending the University of Delaware on a biological science major in the hope to become a doctor, either a dermatologist or oncologist,” said Wil. “I’ll be attending the University of Maryland Eastern Shore doing their aviation science program with aspirations of being an airline pilot,” said Luke.
With a bright future ahead, the Reinbold brothers look forward to their new beginnings. Cambridge South Dorchester Principal Jerome Stover says the young men are role models for future Vikings. “We are super proud of these two young men for the accomplishments that they have done,” said Principal Stover.
The Reinhold brothers will address their senior class in a joint inspirational speech. To watch the live stream click here.
