Police Investigating Serious Motorcycle Crash

MAGNOLIA, Del. – Police in Delaware are investigating a motorcycle accident that left one man in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The crash happened on Friday around 9:40 p.m. when a 23-year-old was driving his motorcycle down Sophers Row northeast of Blue Spruce Drive. Police say a 29-year-old woman was backing out of a private driveway when the motorcycle collided with the trunk area of her Lexus.

The driver of the motorcycle was transported to Christiana Hospital where he was treated for his injuries. Neither the driver of the Lexus or her passenger were injured, but the driver was cited with Improper Backing.

Police say a helmet was found at the scene, but it was unclear if the motorcycle rider was wearing that helmet.
