O.J. Simpson dies following cancer battle
LAS VEGAS, Nv. – O.J. Simpson has died following a cancer battle at age 76.
Simpson’s attorney confirmed that he died Wednesday night in Las Vegas.
Simpson earned his fame through football and show business, but his legacy was changed by the knife slayings of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman in June 1994. His “trial of the century” played out on live tv in 1995, and a criminal court jury found him not guilty of murder. However, a separate civil trial jury found him liable in 1997 for the deaths, ordering him to pay $33.5 million to family members of Brown and Goldman.
