welcome back, were talking sports. tray..sundays are for football, but we had a local game going on this afternoon. that’s right michelle, because of the weather on friday, some high school games got moved, one..moved to a sunday. so definitely a rarety but a special one. anytime rivals get together, you simply can throw out the rceocrds because you never know what will happen. that held true today as laurel took the 6 mile trip to take on delmar. the bulldogs would grab an early lead, but here come the ‘cats delmar caps off a long drive with this short touchdown run by brooks parker as they got back within a score. laurel’s turn deon’tre parker gets it on the counter.. he gets a crease, and 33 yards later he is into the endzone for the score laurel’s turn just before the end of the 1st half, jimmy adkins drops back to pass and finds destin ryder.. and this thing is tied up at 14 all headed into the break second half, and delmar grabs the lead as this time adkins calls his own number… makes a couple guys miss, and he is into the endzone 2 point conversion good, delmar up 8 with under 6 minutes to play, perez nichols gets to the outside, and takes it in! laurel needing the 2 point conversion though.. and htis was the biggest play of the game run gets stuff up the middle! and how about those ‘cats! delmar gets the win, 22-20 the final! and the redkins were taking on the browns this afternoon and washington came out swinging in this one surprisingly efficient in the redzone today, kirk cousins finds his big tight end jordan reed..two scores for reed in the first quarter. cleveland swinging back early on. isaiah crowell, carved the skins up on the ground today, 15 carries-112 yards and that’s score. the browns would take the lead going into the 4th.. but here come the ‘skins cousins.. has time, and finds chris thompson for a 5 yard score then they put it away with this 1 yard touchdown run from matt jones redskins take it, 31-20 ravens looking for their first 4-0 start since the late steve mcnair was their quarterback..cut straight to the 4th, down 2, terrance west busts one in, puts his hometown up 6. raiders march it right back down the field in a hurry, derek carr airing it out to michael crabtree. 3 touchdowns for crabtree in the land of crabakes, none bigger than that one, puts his team back on top. last chance to tie for the ravens, under a minute to go on fourth down, flacco looking for kamar aiken..its broken up! baltimore falls for the first time this season, 28-27. and an all american event going on in the first state this afternoon. the stars of nascar were in dover, taking on the monster mile in the citizen soldier 400. after brad keselowski started on the pole, this guy was fast all day long, martin truex junior grabbed the lead a couple laps into the race, and grabbed for good on lap 288 to take his second win at dover international. seventh career win for the mayetta, new jersey native and after his win, he glowed about the track he grew up the closest to. this track has always been special to me, always been at the top of my list, i love this place. and, ive had a lot of heartbreaks since my first win here back in 07. today, im just thankful to have a great team, to have been able to lead lap 400 and and get back to victory lane at a track thats so special to me.. that’s it for sports. good news is just ahead- keep it right here — you’re watching 47 abc! catch more
