Dorchester Co. shed fire spreads to nearby woods

HURLOCK, Md. – A fire Wednesday afternoon burned approximately two acres of woods in Dorchester County.

Fire marshals say the fire began in a shed at 4274 Osborne Road in Hurlock at around 12:30 p.m. Crews battled the blaze for roughly 90 minutes before bringing it under control.

High winds caused the fire to spread and burn the nearby woods. The Maryland State Forestry Service is conducting woodland fire suppression.

Total damage has been estimated at $20,000.
