UPDATE: Escaped Millsboro suspect apprehended

UPDATE: Delaware State Police say that 47-year-old Javier Guzman was taken into custody at a residence in the 27600 block of Thistle Lane in Millsboro shortly before 11 a.m.

SELBYVILLE, Del. – Delaware State Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a Millsboro man who reportedly fled from a trooper while in custody Friday morning.

Troopers say 47-year-old Javier Guzman was being held at the Selbyville Police Department for a felony DUI investigation. After he was handcuffed, Guzman broke free and fled from the building on foot.

Guzman is 5’9″, 170 pounds and bald with a tattoo on his head. He was last seen wearing a maroon shirt over a white t-shirt. Police say he may be associated with a white 2005 GMC envoy with DE registration PC33628, with ‘Oceanside Cleaning’ on the side of the vehicle.

Police are asking anyone that may have information regarding Guzman’s whereabouts to either call 9-1-1 immediately or Troop 4 at 302-856-5850. Information may also be submitted to Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
