MILLSBORO, Del. – The Millsboro Fire Company responded to a fire in an industrial structure in Georgetown yesterday that caused over one million dollars in damage.

It was determined that a mechanical malfunction with the operating equipment caused the fire, following an investigation with the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office.

Fire fighters say they arrived on scene and found smoke and fire coming from a structure at the Delaware Solid Waste Authority Facility.

The site was unoccupied at the time and there were no reported injuries.
